The Department of Environment continued its transformative Camp Visit Initiative this week, reaffirming one important truth: the path to a greener, cleaner future begins with our youth.
Youth engagement remains a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy because education is one of the most powerful tools for conservation. By teaching young people to respect and protect their environment, we are not only addressing today’s environmental challenges but also helping to prevent those of tomorrow.
This week, we had the privilege of engaging with the bright young minds at iKon Roots and Culture Camp, Future Leaders Summer Camp, and Island Explore Kids Camp.
Together, we explored important topics, including:
- Becoming vocal advocates for environmental protection within their communities.
- Taking responsibility for waste and understanding its impact on the environment.
- Adopting practical, environmentally friendly habits in their daily lives.
Our goal is to ensure that every camper leaves not only with greater environmental knowledge but also with a strong sense of stewardship and responsibility for protecting our natural resources.
