St. Kitts and Nevis has a developing waste management and recycling system overseen by the St. Kitts and Nevis Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC). The SWMC is responsible for the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste, including recycling efforts. The country is actively working to improve its waste management infrastructure and increase recycling rates through public-private partnerships and public awareness campaigns.
The Taiwanese government, through the Taiwan Technical Mission, is collaborating with St. Kitts and Nevis on a Solid Waste Management and Recycling Project. This project aims to improve waste management practices and increase recycling rates in the Federation.
Plastic recycling bins were installed at several schools including: St. Paul’s, Cayon, Sandy Point, and Bronte Welsh Primary Schools
This was a joint effort between the Ministry of Environment and the Taiwan Technical Mission
Bins were also placed in government offices, hotels, churches, and community centers.
